🌍 Who This Applies To

These rights apply to all users of People Memory worldwide. Users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and California (CCPA) have these rights guaranteed by law. Because of our offline-first, no-server architecture, we meet — and in most cases exceed — the requirements of GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA by design.

      Our privacy model means you never need to wait days for a data access or deletion request
      to be fulfilled. Everything is instant and in your hands.
    

📲 How to Exercise Your Rights In-App

All rights can be exercised directly inside People Memory:

1 Access your data — tap any person's card to view all stored information including notes, trust level, interaction history, and dates.
2 Edit or correct data — tap the edit icon on any profile to update any field instantly.
3 Delete a single person — open their profile, scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete Contact. This is permanent and immediate.
4 Delete all data — go to Settings → Clear All Data. This wipes every contact, note, photo, and voice note from your device.
5 Export your data — go to Settings → Export Data to download a JSON backup you can store anywhere.

🏛️ GDPR & CCPA Notes

Under GDPR (EU) and UK GDPR, you have rights including access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, and objection. Under CCPA (California), you have rights to know, delete, and opt out of sale. People Memory satisfies all of these through its offline architecture — we have no personal data on our servers to access, modify, or sell.

We do not sell, share, or broker personal data. We have no user accounts, no tracking, no analytics, and no third-party SDKs. There is nothing to opt out of.

      Legal basis for processing (GDPR Article 6): All data processing occurs locally on your
      device based on your explicit action (Article 6(1)(a) — consent, and Article 6(1)(b) —
      performance of a service you requested). No processing occurs without your direct input.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (e.g., the ICO in the UK, or your national supervisory authority in the EEA) if you believe your rights have been infringed. However, given our no-server architecture, we are confident any concern can be resolved directly with us.
